About Jeff
Jeff Kirsch is a Design Manager and User Experience and Interaction Designer in Seattle, Washington.
At Amazon, he leads the design team responsible for the core experiences in the Kindle apps for iOS, Android, Fire tablet and on Kindle e-reader devices, working directly with senior leadership on a fast-moving and high-visibility product.
A member of the inaugural graduating class of the MFA in Interaction Design program at the School of Visual Arts, he was also on staff and worked closely with the chair to design and build the new program and its spaces. This included spearheading the initiative to create a lab space for exploring the future of interactions. His thesis project, Bookish, is documented here.
He's previously managed a product and user experience design team at LearnVest, helping the fintech startup successfully navigate a multi-million dollar acquisition, worked on an Apple-featured iOS app and a well-received (but sadly canceled) top-to-bottom redesign and relaunch of Thomson Reuters' consumer-facing news offering, designed products for more responsive cities at Urbanscale, helped launch the location sharing app Marco (a couple years before Apple's Find My Friends), and teamed with Jen Bekman Projects and others as a web developer and consultant.
Jeff lives with his wife, two sons, and dog in Seattle, Washington, and tries to make time for the occasional good book, photography, and a little hiking.
